Personally I try to destroy them as fast as I can.
They're actually on the chopping block though. I'll be either removing them from the game, or converting them into an entirely new object somewhat soon. :)
Sort of one of those "because you can" situations. All buildings/structures are required to have an abandoned variant in the code, so I just threw them in for the hell of it. Technically the code is there for villagers to construct new ones as well, the button just doesn't exist anywhere in the GUI.
I like this idea. It adds a bit of a difficulty option to it. You can build by a pool to gain it's positive effects, but then more monsters flock to it (and thus, your village.
I just built a chain of fires out to them and then dismantled them.
