But if you do have an AMD GPU card, it will become unplayable around chapter 8. the solution is to uninstall your Catalyst drivers and reinstall version 12.6 till you finish the game :)
I am curious as to what made you hate it so much, but either way, I wish you a good day and good luck with finding a more suitable game :)
(I wish they would have made more LotR games of this sort though...instead of more and more strategy games....Action-Adventure-RPG + Co-op = awesome ^^)
Quick question... why 12.6 exactly? only 12.6? or 12.6 and up? .... sorry if i am being obvious here or have missed some community post.
Anyway I just got this on HB and paid $25 cause i would feel like a CHEAP LOUSY PRICK for paying a buck for ANY GAME at all... especially if there is charity involved to boot! (that last part is not directed at you wookie). just the thought that anyone pays so little and has the audacity to complain. This world does not need that mentality at all, the fact that WB actually allowed for this is an amazing jesture of good will and actually hearing people abuse it makes me physically ill. (But what I would hate to know would be if you are an adult and paying $1 )
Sjeesh, your kind of a giant ♥♥♥♥. Best you dont play the game. Would not want you in my party
I totally agree with you...I commented just to say that I disagree with the OP and to offer a solution to a problem he / others might have encountered :)
Anyhow! Well, I was basing my tip on an earlier guide that someone was kind enough to post at the community hub :P
It was said that for some people, any version of Catalyst ABOVE 12.6 is likely to cause crashes :/
I'm not entirely sure why...but there's probably a good / silly enough reason :)
From my own experience, It's doable!...with the occassional graphical bug / crash...
The game crashed a lot during one of the earlier stages (chapter 4 I think?) , but was still do-able.
Yet once we arrived at chapter 8? Wohoho! Stuttering and crashes for simply walking...My girlfriend and I unfortunately had to stop playing at this point...I'm really eager to keep playing though :P
I would have done the drivers tip myself, but I have lots of projects to work on atm, and they depend on my PC's ability to render and so on...So I'll try that after I'm done :)
(Just a bit worried of screwing something up ;P)
But lots of people commented that it was working for them!
I've done a tiny bit of research and found out that some people even talked to a dev / support rep and it's a result of some lack of optimization with AMD cards, and will not likely to get patched..
Don't get me wrong though! I'm AAAAALLL for the game! Sure, rather annoying I can't continue to enjoy it atm, but I still think it's a great game, beautifully done for the most part and plays great! And even if it wasn't? It still wouldn't matter...C'mon! You basically donated money for a charity! Was it 1$? You donated money AND got a reward for it...so look at the bright side! No need to complain and bash :)
I wish there were actually MORE games like this one! Action-RPG + Co-op = Awesome :D
The OP has his opinion, and we have ours ;)
Here's the link to the original guide I came across:
