Lemme try my best to help troubleshoot.
1. Are you sure it's not a faulty controller?
2. Check if your controllers drivers haven't gone bad
3. Also make sure you set the game to use a gamepad
The menu bug is something that is happening to everybody. You can highlight the dfifferent options, but they cant be selected :P
Even an advanced gaming mouse driver could be the source of the issues.
For those who never installed any drivers and only used a wired controller, there's a possibility for the issues to be from the game, but it might also be from the sentivity of the trigger.
Make sure you have calibrated the controller to make sure everything works fine, from the drivers : http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-other-devices/windows/xbox-controller-for-windows-configure
From what I have seen, the trigger, if calibrated, will activate the grip once it's pressed toward the 50%+ of trigger capacity, so if your triggers aren't reaching that 50% as it's uncallibred, it might be a problem. (Some game are set to only required 1-25% pressure and anything further are set to be a 100%) Think of it as the pen pressure of a PC tablet.
Also did a test with a wired Xbox one controller. No luck there either, RB/LB work fine but not the triggers.
