Bugs/issues - how to send us error logs and DXDIAG dumps

Heya! Here's some extra info that you can send to the team on http://www.iambreadgame.com/support/ to help him figure out any bugs or problems you may be having (especially if your FPS is playing up).


(Windows) Send DXDIAG Dump

DxDiag is DirectX Diagnostic tool which collect information about your computer hardware, operation system and installed drivers. Whenever you meet crash, low performance or any graphical issue this information is important for troubleshooting.

DxDiag allows you to save all required information as text file so it's easy to upload it or check it's contents. That file do not contain any personal information so it's fine to make in publicly available.

Getting a file with your system information

• Open the Windows button and type ‘dxdiag’
  
• Click on the option that says “Save All Information”
  
• Save the file wherever you like
  
• Send this file to us!

(Windows) Send Error Log

• Right click the I am Bread in the Steam library and select ‘Properties’
  
• Click the ‘Local Files’ tab
  
• Click ‘Browse Local Files”
  
• This should open Windows Explorer. Open the folder ‘IAmBread_Data’
  
• There should be a file in there called output_log.txt
  
• Send this file to us!


(Mac) Send us System Specifications

• Make and model of Mac
  
• Operating system version, e.g. Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite …
  
• Gamepad (if used)

(Mac) Send Error Log

• Access Apple Spotlight by clicking the magnifying glass on the top right of the screen, or by pressing 'cmd + space'
  
• Type 'Console' which will bring up the 'Console' app. Click that to launch it.
  
• In the log list on the left (if you don't see a list, go to 'View > Show Log List') go to '~/Library/Logs'. In there you should have 'Unity/Player.log' Click that to open it.
  
• Click 'File > Save a Copy As...' and save the file somewhere you can easily access.

ALSO - IF YOU ARE HAVING FPS ISSUES

Please let us know:

• The resolution the game is running at
  
• Texture Quality
  
• Shadow Quality
  
• Is gif recording on?
  
• What gamepad (if any, if so, are multiple gamepads attached?)
  
• Is the game running windowed

This can be found in the Settings menu.

Also are you running any other heavy pieces of software whilst playing the game? Things like;

• Running virus scans
  
• 10-20+ Google chrome tabs open
  
• Intensive graphics applications
  
• Other games
  Etc...

on the petrol station level there's this ANNOYING thumping! i can't find it, and it's SOOOO loud! it sounds like some metal (like the car) and something big (like cardboard boxes or something similar.)

For some reason I can't open the game at all and it just immediatly crashes.

Game was running fine until today, it started lagging really badly and now won't open at all, just crashes on a blank window.

the first level flicker uncontrolably slowing and crash my game controls don't respone to me at all i had it and it won't let me play from since i got the game its impossible and don't work fully some one help setting do nothing other than a little slower flickering but usless fix the game

My save is gone and I can't progress through the game. I made it through most the game when I first got it; and I recently went back for SnGs. When the game launched, and I went to story, I didn't have any levels to select. I went through the first level; but all I could do after completing it was replaying it. What's going on?

Hmm, saves work differently on I am Bread to our other games. They should be saved to the cloud and are particularly tricky to delete.

Off the top of my head I can only assume there's been some kind of corruption or perhaps you're not connected to Steam?

I am. What I'm most concerned about is not being able to progress. The only level I'm able to play is the kitchen.

A friend of mine had an issue where the game ran just fine. But after he quit, the Synaptics Touchpad driver for his system became uninstalled. No freaking idea why that would happen.

Exploit: If you attach on to something (piece of glass etc) you can throw it and hold on to fly, can finish all levels easily by this exploit. Just fly to the other side.

So the game is crashing at the loading screen, it works 1 out of 15-20 start-ups or so, I'm using a Macbook Pro 2016 and in the launch options i have it set to -force-opengl.

anyone still caring about this game from Bossa? its not had an update in ages and its still Early Access and pretty buggy :(

Actually it has been out of early access it is just a little glitch normally that white board in the title screen would tell you what is new in this update but it is glitched up there are other things that happened to me at least. And I sent a message to them on June 23rd this year so almost 6 months ago.
