That being said, you're right about it being buggy. Microsoft rushed 10 out the door. It still feels unpolished and rough around the edges. The rumor mill says it was originally meant to release in October, but 10 was pushed up to July in order to be ready for Back to School computer sales. Companies like HP and Dell are desperately hoping it will improve their currently lackluster sale figures.

I've heard about the rumor too. The OS works fine for basic tasks, it might even work better with game compatibility when Microsoft rolls out with the rest of it during October. I'm glad I'm not the only one who updated. I'm very finicky about migrating to a new OS every 7 or so years. I decided to make a change and update as soon as I could with the free offer and learn about it before friends and family could. More skills for the workplace I suppose.
News on Tron 2.0 under Windows 10..
I'm getting an unusual window after the game closes telling me something about the MFC application failed to close properly or something. Do you think this is normal program behavior?
Go to the Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings > Click the "Settings" button under Performance > Click the Data Execution Prevention tab > Click the "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select" radio button > Click Add > Navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tron 2.0" > Click Lithtech.exe > Click OK twice > Restart the computer.
EDIT: got it to work after launching the game for the first time, silly me
If this is about Windows 10. Then you just need to break it in.
A lot of older applications and games seem to do this. They don't start correctly the first time.
But, it is true that Windows 10 (and some earlier versions of Windows) will often kick in a compatibility troubleshooter (sometimes silently), after the first time an older game or application is run. And then the next time you try, it suddenly works.
* Right-click on the TronLauncher.exe file in your steamapps folder and choose "Properties"
* Choose the "compatibility" tab
* Check "Run as administrator"
... worked for me.
I'm linking the results of two scans of the file from VirusTotal and Jotti's Malware.

The results? Nothing found in either scan. Do it yourself if you don't believe me.
EDIT: MrTact also left a comment on my YouTube video. There, he gave more details about why he thought the TronLauncher.exe he downloaded from my site was malware. I'll repost a response I left over there, here as well.
holy cow it worked for me as well
You ser are a bloody legend
thanks,

Just as a FYI: This was already mentioned in schmatzler's TRON 2.0 guide over a year ago. It's where everyone should be checking first if they have any problems with the game on any version of Windows.
