Anyone Still Play Multiplayer Lightcycles?

I bought this game on disc (!) when it came out and never finished the campaign buy wow, the Lightcycles multiplayer was amazing.

But maybe 6 months after it came out there were 3 servers, and only one really had ppl on it.

Curious if anyone still plays this and iff there is a way to tell via Steam how many people.

If anyone is interested I'd be down to start up a match. I used to be really good... probably noy anymore.

I would totally be interested in rounding up players to hit the grid. I too, have the PC version installed with all the mods, thanks to LDSO. :)

ps. I was never great at the light cycle matches, but I loved playing them.

We should sync up. I'm in CA on PST and would be down to set something up for this weekend.

I had never heard of LDSO but just googled it and very cool. It says servers are online Fri-Sun. But I'll have to install the old PC version with the Killer App mod it looks like? No Steam?

All mods/patches/add-ons work equally well on both the Steam and CD/DVD versions. :)

My servers run 24/7 from a datacentre in France, LDSO puts up additional servers on weekends.

You need Killer App Mod to play on them.

Wow, can't believe it. I just bought the Steam version since god knows where my (CD!) hard copy is. I'll hit you up once I have a chance to reorient myself so I'm not awful.

OK, got it up and running. Forgot how simple it is to play (yet hard to play well). Though I odn't see anyone online atm (https://tron-servers.net/) but its 4p PST so maybe omst people are still at work.

Is there a time when people tend to play?

Also, thanks to LDSO, the killer app mod works great. Easy install, nice high rez (so I can watch myself get derezzed in glorious HD).

I've totally neglected this game most of this month while getting caught up with Tron Run/r. Now I'm low on free time, but I'll definitely be around after New Years. If I can, I'll try to visit the grid on the weekends, possibly around evening hours.

Alright I'm here too, but the LDSO servers are always empty.

It's been pretty bad the last couple of weeks, yeah. Back during the holidays and the Steam Winter sale, there were quite a few playing. But it's not surprising to me. Everyone has returned to school/work, and don't have as much free time any more.

Also, you have to consider that there are probably a lot of people who bought the game, that don't know the multiplayer can be made to work again. They assume it's dead/broken and there are no servers any more.
