Anno 117: Pax Romana

Anno 117: Pax Romana

will this have sub maps again?
My biggest problem with every anno title except 1404 is theres always these stupid sub maps i have to go through like 3 menus and 2 loading screens to get to, that make playing the game such an extra pain i'd rather not play.

1404 where everything was just on one map is the best system for a game like this, and i hope with this title they finally go back to that. sub maps suck.

Hey there!
Provinces/regions will be handled like in Anno 1800, meaning they will all have their separate maps.
As in Anno 1800, you can quickly switch between these provinces via the numpad keys which is almost instantaneous. No need to go through any menus to get there.

Ah in my experience anno 1800 was just as bad as the other anno’s. Heck I’d actually argue worse in some ways. The map switching hanged so long. It was miserable. I hope one day y’all see that regressing the maps and separating all them is worse than one larger expansive map, but I’ll have to pass.

In the mean time I hope the other aspiring fans enjoy the game.

That was my first though that Anno 117 will look like a mix of Anno 2070 set 2000 years before, with Anno 1800 improvements including seamless regions switching.

IMHO Rome setting is a bad choice. We see many Rome based games released every year.

Much more interesting would be Ancient Egypt, Persian Empire, or Sumerian Empire or Aztecs.

You say Rome's city building game and I immediately think Caesar game series.

I hope it won't end up as The Settlers New Allies.
Best of luck.

Respectfully disagree. I'm obsessed with ancient Rome and I totally wish we got many Rome based games every year. There really aren't as many as everyone seems to think and even rarer is a good one. I couldn't possibly be more happy about Anno meets ancient Rome.
