We’ve heard your feedback regarding mid-game and late-game drop-ins (such as joining in the middle of the mission, and seeing things not fully in sync, like a closed treasure chest). We have several fixes coming in the next week specifically designed to improve the experience for players joining sessions already in progress.

By popular demand, we are officially adding an Arachnophobia Mode! We've had several requests for this, so for those of you who find eight-legged monsters a bit too much to handle: we've officially gotten rid of the legs! You'll be able to toggle this in the settings very soon.

Hey everyone, thanks once again for your feedback and suggestions to improve the game. In this update, it mainly consists of quality-of-life improvements, Steam invites, new features and bug fixes. We're also working hard on Act 3 of the game, aiming for our full release in the coming months. Here's a detailed rundown what has changed in version 0.9.21 of Cursed Companions.

We’ve added Text-to-Speech! Type away your spells, works if your mic somehow fails or if the environment is too noisy or if you can't shout 'will you marry me' in the cafe.
How to use: Hit [Enter] to open the chat, type your message, and a robot voice will read it aloud to everyone. It is proximity based as well. So use it to trigger spells or curse words you have problems with.

Also use this to your advantage for maximum trolling.

After clearing a Co-op Act, this Victory Statue will appear. Use it to instantly start a new game with your current group without having to jump back to the lobby. Many new players didn't know what to do when they cleared the boss in Act 1, so this statue will help lead players to the Act 2 and 3 without having to exit and enter the game again.

We hear you and we've now added support for higher resolutions and Ultrawide mode. Expanded the graphics menu so you can tweak settings. You can also disable post-processing effects. We've not tested on all known monitor layouts and resolutions, so if you see an issue, do let us know on our Discord. Tell us if you have problems on OLED 32:9 ultrawide 4k monitors so we'll have an excuse to buy one for testing! (PS. We are kidding)

The mute button is way more obvious now. And we've put the icon on the player, so if you can't hear them, you'll know why.

We've also added a volume boost. If your friend sounds a little soft, you can now boost them to crank their volume up. Your custom volume levels for other players will also save automatically so you don't have to crank it up or down again whenever a new game/level starts (in the same session).

Quick Invite: You can now invite friends directly through the Game Settings or the Steam overlay. So what you can do is create a new game, then instead of sending the lobby code, you can directly invite your friends to enter the game.

Sometimes you want to impress your friends, sometimes you just want to make a mess.
Three Save Slots: You now have three slots for your House Decor instead of just one.
Auto-Load: Your last saved layout will automatically load up whenever you host a new game.

You can now press Tab at any point during a match to see exactly what the game settings are. So this way you'll know what the win or lose conditions are in Traitor mode.

We've replaced the Main Menu music with an original soundtrack we produced in-house. It's 100% unique and safe for streamers - no more worrying about YouTube or Twitch copyright strikes! Let us know in Discord what you think of the music. :)

• Ice Wand & Boomer Bomb: These now freeze monsters completely instead of just slowing them down. Relax Bro!
  
• The Matron: She now has a red glow at her feet when she's alerted.
  
• Singing: We’ve reduced the volume threshold for the singing requirements for the Conductor and Simon to make them a bit more forgiving to pass.
  
• Localization: Updated several Spanish and Italian words that were previously failing to trigger.

• Fixed those instances where dungeons would overlap or misalign.
  
• Dead Spectate Chat: Dead players should be able to hear each other.
  
• Cleaned up the audio glitches for the Foul Moth and Screamsucker
  
• Fixed a network bug that caused some players to disconnect the moment a portal opened. May still trigger sometimes - still working on further fixes.
  
• Teleportation sound is no longer global (i.e the Wayhome Stone, Teleport Stone)
  
• Fixed an issue where House Decor wouldn't load properly when restarting in Challenge Mode.

Phew! That was a lot of changes! But we are confident it adds a new level of polish to our game. Hopefully the bugs fixes work out.
