2. Your internet network, just having "ethernet" might not be enough if you have issues with the actual stability of your network.
lag can be caused by a number of things. Given the very little information you ahve provided it is hard to figure out options to ofer you.
Your lag could be affected by:
1. unsupported video card
2. internet connection too unstable
3. too many applications running at the same time
4. improper settings for yout network or internet device
5. Not enough system or video card RAM to support the game
6. Firewall and/or AntiVirus not set up properly.
Those are just a few ideas off the top of my head. Go to the thread I linked below and see if there is anything there that might help.

and check if you have :
1. unsupported video card
3. too many applications running at the same time
5. Not enough system or video card RAM to support the game
Shell Shock Live is not a really resource demanding game, it only require you a 1.5GHz Proccie speed, most Laptop that are 3 years ago should be able to handle it, so you probably have too many process running on the background
