Offline mode
Could you make it to where you can play this offline? I really like this game but don't always have internet and it can't be played without it.

Get internet.

Please ignore the troll above.

Considering that the game does not have a hotseat mode as of yet (but it does have a single player), I think that offline mode might not be considered. After all, it would have to keep track of your levels, and even single player gives you XP.

OP has a point. You shouldn't need to always be connected to the internet to play single player skirmishes and stuff. It's not like skirmishes give you XP anyway.

Always online is a good DRM tactic for game devs (Not saying DRM is good in general, but good for the devs), but personally I feel it is completely unnesessary for this kind of game. Not to mention the problem with people with unreliable and spotty internet. I mean not everyone lives in DC. "get better internt" is not a solution if better internet cannot be obtained.

Australia for example may be a rich country, but they do not have a great internet infrastructure. Plus their internet is typically capped, so at the end of the month they may not have internet.

That would require the space in hard drive to be larger than usual as it will need to save your profile in your computer

Ridiculous, the size of this game is negligible. Honeslty, hard drive space is not a problem in this day and age unless maybe you are on a tablet or netbook. Do you own TF2, CS:GO, or literally any other game on steam with graphics thats are actually more advanced then a few jpegs?

I want this game to be better. For me its local mp but in order to have it, always online needs to go. To hell with alway online. This would be a fun little game on a laptop while in transit or anywhere not at home with no internet.

Maybe just make it generic where you have everything unlocked for offline mode and keep that separate from the multiplayer?

yes, this will be especially great if we get local mp. It would make me sick knowing that if I want all the toys when playing with my friends, I would need to sink 100+ hours into the game.

Now, of coures, some early adopters are going to argue against this as they apparently will say they "earned" the right to have access to all the features of the game. Now, as much as I disagree with the time-sink model of this game, I could tolerate its existence if it is confined to the online portion leaving those who wants a party like game can have everything the game has to offer.

Assuming we ever get local mp.

The two choices around this is either have seperate progresses for offline & multiplayer, or just have everything in offline unlocked. I wouldn't mind having at least all of the weapons unlocked for offline mode. They aren't that big of surprise and you'll definitely use all of them before you unlock them all at some point anyways so this route would be the better way to go.
