I'm pretty sure about now, there are actually less people playing the game, because you know, people like me that can't play the game for like 4 days now, because the game will not work after the settings window. It doesn't crash, nor does it stop responding, it just simply stays there with a black screen, and I have to terminate the process cause it's not going anywhere.

That is the exact same problem I am going through. At least I am not alone

I've been playing it on and off all afternoon, Joining, Hosting... all is working just fine. Try verifying your files.

Did that. Did EVERYTHING. Verify. Uninstall/reinstall the game and steam. Update everything possible. NOTHING

More then 2 guys have the same problem after the same exact steam update. Sure, verifying our files is gonna fix it... Obviously steam broke something somewhere that only a few people were afected by. I've seen more people complaining about the same problem. The game was working fine before the last steam update, and after the last game update.
