I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes" for any game out there. However there are no developer cheats in Windward in the Steam build of the game. When I do development, I play in Unity, which gives me access to everything without having to add dev cheats.

if You have access to the savefile[1], it's very, very easy to give yourself a f***ton of money, among other things. Demonstration: https://img.seriouss.am/windward_gold
It's so easy it took me under a minute to set my gold to this [2]

How to exactly do it, I'll leave as an exercise to the reader.
hint #1: it's prefixed in plain text
hint #2: it's in little-endian

[1] i.e. if playing "singleplayer", on a server that allows player ships or on a server with server-sided players if you can access the server's files
[2] though, playing like this is boring so I reverted to the old value

ugh, I wish I was smart enough to figure this out :) I've done some memory editing with Cheat Engine before but only when it's a really simple matter of searching for a value a couple times. That did not help me here.

conventional memory scanning is a major PITA on games like Windward due to *cough* manged code *cough* VM *cough* similar heresy *cough*.
That said, I did mention "savefile" in my previous post for a very good reason.

I've looked at the save files before, world files too, everything is just jumbled gibberish

I couldn't even locate the save file -_- I found the world files but not the character save files. No worries though, I made decent progress tonight more legit ways, which is probably for the best :)

Yeah, I made a lot of progress by buying things for cheap in low-challenge regions and selling them for big profits in high-challenge regions. Problem is that I have a bit of an obsession with RP, and make a new character for every time I join another faction

The savegame is not all garbled it's actua... ah f*** it, I'll just write a savegame editor for ya people.
