Is there a way to disable country flag that shows next to nickname?

I haven't played on multiplayer yet, are these publicly visible? If yes, is there a way to disable it?

Yes, they show up in multiplayer. I can add an option for it, but why does it matter? It's just the geolocation obtained from Steam.

I'd really really appreciate an option for disabling it. I have a very specific location and it would allow me to get better privacy, lose immediate recognition on a server and avoid any possible nationalism remarks/racism.

This game's community is pretty small and very nice to one another, I've found. I can't imagine nationalist remarks being made or racism towards you or your nationality, Beng Minah. But, I can understand the need for privacy, and if the flag can be made optional then why not? Captain Dutch will still fly the Dutch colours though! Yahrr! :D

I too fail to see how a single country can pinpoint any one specific user, but I suppose you have your choice to privacy...

If you feel offended by someone else (e.g. by the chat client) ... simply report the user (screenshot). So far I play here I never have had seen those situations.

personally the country flag messes with my immersion, i don't mind if its displayed elsewhere but i'd rather not have it next to my player name

Type /anon, hit enter. Next time you respawn your flag will be anonymous.

Hi, sorry for late thank you, this was a great addon and I very appreciate that you implemented it.

However, is anonymous mode not working anymore? It says that I have it activated (Anonymous mode: ON), but it doesn't seem to be working even after disconnecting/reconnecting and restarting the game. Before it showed that little pirate flag instead of a country one (nice touch, btw )

Ah, I changed these settings to be sync'd on Steam Cloud. Seems I had to add fields for them. Should be fixed now.
