Strange Diagram quest
I have spent close to 12 hours on this quest to get to the part where they are demanding 4 cargo but my hold only has room for 3 (plus the quest) so it is impossible to complete at my current level. It would have been nice to know that 12 bloody hours ago.

Yeah, you need a Galleon to complete it, and lot of money!
But hey now you know what to work towards to!

What's the best way to make $$ to get to 1 million?

Trade but it takes a lot of time. took me about 12 hours to gain 400,000 gold (though I now have a galleon so it would be quicker)

so i have the galleon and can transport 4 cargo and the quest and now the server where I got the strange diagram quest from is gone, that really is annoying.

Didn't do that quest yet (lack of money) but I think you can do it in any level 10 city. Or is it asking for a specific named city?

You should not do this on an external server, many servers get resetted after a while.
Create your own in Singleplayer.
And yes, SDQ can only be done where you found the letter

If you don't have a level 10 town in your level 36+ regions can you grind out up to move the quest to the first step?
For the record, to complete the quest you're gonna need to do it all for the same town, so write down the name of the town and the region # and never, ever start it in an instance.

Unlocking the Galleon works the same as for any other ship: kill pirates or players sailing one, gives you a 10% chance to get the blueprints for it.

Best way to make money imo is farming combat instances for loot, then selling it at the highest lvl town available!

Hope this helps!

The answer to my own question is yes. I managed to get the town to level 10 and then I could advance the quest.

That's false. Good thing I tested it on my own.
For anyone wondering, you can totally start and complete this quest in one, or several distinct, instance(s). All you need to do is have a level 10 town and then give it the same name as the town you started the quest in. Hovering over the quest item in your inventory allows you to check that name anytime you need.
I wouldn't recommend doing it this way if you can avoid as it can take more time but it's still possible.
