How to quickly capture regions?

Hello,

I'm a Sojourn level 70 offensive-based speed-focused Corvette and I'm trying to get to a level 39 region far away. Problem is that I have to 100% each region before it.

Moreover, what is the fastest way to capture a region?.

This is difficult for me because, for example, if there is a fully controlled pirate region, it's difficult for me to capture all towns because one or two always get taken while I'm capturing another town in the region. My useless AI teammates always die defending themselves or a town, and even the level 3 reinforced siege towers, which I build as often as I can per region, can't win a 1v1 against a pirate ships.

Sometimes it takes ages to even get a foothold in a controlled map, l know......Often it pays to sneak around and have a good look at the layout, see which towns are more easily defended/can be protected to begin with.[a Spymaster specialist can help here too]....Often a good ploy is to start capturing and damage a few towers at one side of a map, thus getting pirates occupied there, then Ninja capping a town on the other side.......Do not forget to reinforce your towers too.This is *important* in solo play.It can take awhile, but you will gradually move out from that start town,remember lighthouses too, focus your AI on the town.They will always try to recapture if a lighthouse there......It also shows the pirates the town too though......Also, make sure your own gear is upgraded to your level, and suitable for your Specialisation......Defence means Hull,Armor,Damage,Support is Diplo, Diplo,Mobility,Speed, Offence is Damage, Range,Armor.....Hope this helps a bit.

thank you for the tips! Ah using the lighthouses and towers as decoys sounds like a great idea. And like I said i put up siege towers with level 3 reinforcment and they mostly always lose a 1v1 with an AI pirate ship...sigh
