How do you place/detonate satchel charges? (mission 3 - Weatherman)
When I get inside the building with the drugs, I select the satchel charge and left click to drop them, but they don't appear anywhere on the ground. When I try to then use the radio detonator, nothing happens.

Even if I start the mission and try to drop them immediately at the spawn point, the same thing happens - the satchel charges are removed from my inventory, but they don't appear on the ground anywhere and the radio detonator does nothing.

Has anyone successfully completed this mission, or even been able to detonate satchel charges at all?


Edit: It looks like this is a bug that never got fixed. I spent an hour looking at every fan site trying to find a solution, but there is none. So this game is effectively unplayable now.

Try using the 203 instead

yo i think i just tossed normal grenades and it worked that way. i think you can also use a LAW or the M4 attachment (M203 like spc4chip said).

I just had the same issue on the third mission. Tried my satchels and nothing happened, they just ghosted. Tossed a grenade in the window instead... but the mission doesn't end. It doesn't register as "objective complete."

I will try resetting the mission and try again, maybe it is just a one-time glitch because I tried satchels first. Maybe if I don't bring satchels with me at all?

I swap all satchels out for something else, they seem indeed bugged thus useless

Yes, satchels are completely (and INTENTIONALLY) glitched out. The developers determined that they were far too overpowered for use in multiplayer so they disabled them completely even for the campaign missions.

Best bet for missions requiring a kaboom is to bring a rocket launcher or mortar sort of thing. I forget what they're called, haven't played this game in a few weeks. Grenade launcher on the M16 might also work for some targets.

EDIT:
After some trial and error this is what I have discovered... certain targets (the crate of drugs) need you to be within "satchel-placement" distance when they explode in order to trigger the mission to advance. So get close before you use a grenade or LAW. Other targets (radar trucks, etc.) don't need you to get close enough to "identify" them and drop a satchel, you can shoot them with a LAW from like a mile away no problem. So far I think the crate of drugs is the only one that requires you to stand so close but I still have the last two countries to play.

Try also destroying the boxes labeled "AK47" or whatever.
