Viking Raiders, really?
Well, so long as they don't pretend that this is historical, I guess it's not too bad.
I mean I probably won't buy the game, but that's for unrelated reasons.

Well in fairness it's viking forefathers, not viking raiders, and clearly there is some license being taken with that term to pique people's interest.

Ironic though, more than the Danes, Jutes and Geats for the time period I'd say the Saxons (not in the DLC) are in many ways "vikingish" in their behaviour, I live not very far from a fort built (along with many other forts and towers of the Saxon Shore) by the fearful Romans to stave off (some of) our ancestors' sea raids.

If we get some Saxon armour (kingly or otherwise) and the Seax in the game, I am going to be a very happy smurf, the Danes, Geats and Jutes will be gravy.

Yeah of course raiders existed at the time, I'm just saying that the daring sea raids that vikings were so known for were pretty unique to the viking age.

Well sea raids of a similar character to the viking ones, and along the same coastlines, were a big problem for the late empire in Britain, but I don't think it's in dispute that the use of the word "viking" is meant to appeal and get us buying, rather than reflect the history of the time period.
