Its literally right at the end of Rome 2 pretty much... The fall of the roman empire era, tho Atilla didnt actually manage to destroy rome he set the stage to it by showing rome can be beaten marching all the way down into italy but unable to take the city. His conquests also forced the other tribes to relocate away from him which lead them into rome eventually.. Its pretty much going to be almost the same as Rome 2 with almost the same exact units. With very slight differences in their armor and weapons being a little better for the tribes after being conquered and adapting to romes way of fighting... Personally I dont find this game worth buying its literally a stand alone expansion to Rome 2 using the same engine same skins and etc. Tho there are a few new mechanics that I find interesting just not enough to spend $50 on this.. Maybe half a year after its out...

Atilla is pretty much the first mongolian horde to tear threw europe like the plauge... It set up the fall of Rome by forcing the Visigoths and everyone else to run away from him. Also paved the path Ghangis Khan would eventually take.

Not everyone ran away from him. He was actually beaten and tactically outclassed by the Roman General Aëtius (along with Visigothic allies) who wanted revenge for his slaughter of their people, in what is now modern day France. Aëtius failed to press his advantage (for various reasons) and follow the deafeted Huns and Attila retreated across the Rhine to lick his wounds.
