Worst faction in the game?

These forums talk way too much about DLC so let's actually talk about the game for once!
What do you think is the worst faction in the game/campaign?
For me it's the huns because I don't like being a permanent horde. What's yours?

And my favourite is ERE for the units, buildings and traits.

I'd say the Alans. Pretty disappointing how the Devs did a mischief on them...

Burgundians and Visigoths. All the "unique" units are pretty much T1 trash units

you know burgundians and visigoths are two of the strongest teams and that there T1 units are probley the strongest in the game haha (gothic warband and barbs skirms rekt everything)

well campagin wise sassnids are the strongest but if we are not counting them, then I would say langobards, Burgundians and the huns.
Mutiplayer wise I would say Alans, Burgundians, Langobards maybe vandals

As the Visigoths, pretty much conquered Africa from Libya and west to the Atlantic at Tingi with T1 "trash units".
Moving up into Iberia now with Spear MastersT2, Germanic Crossbowman T2, and, oh yea, T3 Gothic Oathsworn...Att-72 Def-29 Charge-95 Health-100 Morale-116 (all but unbreakable). That's the stats without exp upgrades.

Have not played all the factions, but sp wise, I think the Alans are one of the worse/hardest because of their start position.

Vikings if you ask me, sadly. Their artillery, archers and cavalry are pretty bad.
Their melee is strong but very vunerable to archers/ranged.

yeah vikings are pretty bad, but they aren't the worst cause they have a strong starting postion, but there units are quite bad haha apart from huscurls!!! :D

But in the TW game start position is worth 0.

starting out with everyone friendly to you lots of trade and no real threat sounds like a good spot to start to me??

well that rly depends on which of the viking factions you play with.. but none of them have good relations with any big factions and have a long way to travle to get to large cities for plunder, so I dont agree. And you can just move your capital if you are not pleased with the starting area. also unless you clear the other viking factions in the start you will have a problem with them once you settle elswhere. Also the fertility level in skadinavia is bad. I would like to know what you mean by "lots of trade"? you will max have 2 trade rutes as any of the viking factions after round 5. Unless you play with mods ofc.. The only good things about the vikings is their melee infantry and their culture. And like i said you can move your capital so if you want britain its better to take a nomade faction with better units. Ofc you can still win with them easy, because they are easier to handle late game with their culture than for example the romans.

tbh im stomping everything with vikings have france and the uk and now moving through germany...

their horses are pretty good and the melee infantry rock. the 2 hand axemen suck as they melt but berzerkers and such rock. its actually easy mode...

the franks are good too and have an early axe unit that rapes the vikings but the ai sucks so much you can stomp them.

this made me think of the sassanids rather than the vikings. the sassanids are like the pimps of total war, send a few gold now and then to the hoes (client states) and they will never leave you

Well the game is pretty easy so.. Its not like they are easy compared to others. When you get to the huns you will know what im saying when I say their soldiers suck. Unless you dont play on very hard. Then I have no opnion.

Even the worst faction in the game can ofc win the game and truely the only thing hard about attila is public disorder.

I love playing as the vikings (because they are awesome) and the ERE but yea... vikings melee is strong but i think they honestly have the worst archers in the game. ERE is fun because they have a well rounded force.

I was hoping they were awesome but I was not so impressed with the viking units or ships. :(
