Balance of Power question
I'm playing as the Ebdanians and have taken over all of England, but I'm starting to lose power now. It's currently at 46%. Dominion is the biggest issue here, as it is at 36%. Do I need to assassinate the other nobles with lots of influence? What if they're loyal to me?

war is the fastest way to gain influence, send your king or whoever into endless battles and dont spend your influence. I have found the influence/control mechanic to be a bit off. if your at pease not attacking you lose control of your faction... its odd.

Use your daughters or wives to gain either influence or control. That is the easiest way. I keep both my dominion & control over 75% all of the time just by making smart choices on the family tree. Of course there is always the easy way that Mephiston87 described if you are not willing to learn how to use the family tree or promotions correctly.

Good to know! I made both my king and heir a governor instead of a general. Will switch that around again. Well, maybe not the heir!

I just promoted whoever I could lol and I forgot about marrying them to nobles. Will keep that in mind.

Thanks guys.

Well not just that though. If you actually click on a family tree character (male or female) they have options available to either build influence or control. They can also target another character (family or not family) to help with building Loyalty or reduce/gain Influence or target another character for Assassination. All family tree characters have these options available

Ah ok. I knew I could build up Loyalty with that, but did not realize I could reduce other nobles influence aswell. Thanks.

There are some circumstances where the battles are few and far between, and, in that case, I will make the King a govenor...he will gain some bit of influence every turn no matter what. The "seek support" option will increase control and hence power when succesfull. Any family member can attemp that.
