Mysteriously Missing Family Members: Bug in new patch?
So I started up a new game after the DLC patches this week and played my way through to find the occasional family General is missing off my tree!

He's not displayed on either side of the tree nor on the "Other Noble" Section. The General puts out a Loyalty Notice due to being neglected for promotion and I get caught up in a civil war!

Very frustrating. As a solution I have had to "execute" these missing Generals to try and deal with the bug as I found the General that replaces the previous is also not showing up!

I even tried disbanding the armies attached to them and release them from service but all I get are frequent loyalty messages that they are in the background brooding and plotting away disgruntled.

This bug is new to me, anyone else getting these inaccessible Generals too that you cannot access to promote or do whatever with?

Ive had that. Both my king and heir dissapeared from the family tree but are present in the campaign map. There is no fix to it aside from killingg them both in battle and just start over. I also had daughters who are married to generals missing and the generals themselves also vanish from the family menu.

Ditto. Decided to swap the provinces two govenors were running and they both disappeared from the family tree, but still were gaining levels and making babies. I found I could still use them for starting new armies/fleets.

It would appear that maybe the Family Tree Database gets corrupted?

I have a Family Member who sits in my Family Tree and also sits on the "Other Nobles" section as well?!?

I can tell this is the same one as the info is the same for both and I recently promoted him so I get him highlighted on promotions and the other two sections when I click on him to take an action.

Eitherway something is up and definitely appears to be a bug or series of bugs that requires a priority fix.

Noticed this as well.. Really problematic at times...

I had that at launch, literally ruined two campaigns as the Geat. They seemed to have patched it out for the nordic faction at least(last campaign i've been playing luckily havent had it once and ive in 445AD). Cause yeah this is a major game breaking bug, random unpreventable civil wars are not fun xD I'd recommend you post something in the official total war forums, they'll ask for a save file etc.

Curious, what faction are you choosing?

Ironically it is the Geats! :D

I seem to have a bloodline of disgruntled generals that do not show up on the family tree or other noble tree and I keep getting messages about their disloyalty just like what I have written before about.

As I have progressed in the campaign sometimes I notice the occasional pop up of the appearance of one of them only for them to disappear from the tree the next turn.

Really weird.

Plus add to the fact that there is a limited pool of names and you really have to be careful identifying whose, whom. I'll look into reporting the bug on the official forums.

Yes this bug has been around for a while now. Actually existed since release in some form or another.

Hope its fixed next patch.

As of june the 6th this is still a bug. Playing also as the Geats I have a missing general. Pretty annoying but it was started by him marrying a non-existing daughter.

July and still seeing this. Blargh.

Yes you'd think this was one of the priorities to fix. Obviously Warhammer Fantasy is taking people away from fixing this product.

Same. I spent a while waiting to marry a daughter to an "other noble" only to have them both disappear. They appear as options when raising forces, and the man appears in the "Offices" pane, but they never appear in the main family pane.

I can't use them politically which is disappointing. And the man has low loyalty so I can't "secure loyalty" with him.

Pretty demotivating actually. Not a great endorsement of future releases of this game.

Edit: I'm playing campaign multiplayer as The Danes on our local network. My playing partner is playing as The Geats. She's also lost her king in the same way.

i have this problem too. i have 12 armies 6 governors and 3 fleets so family is quite crowded and its impossible to find anyone and i have maybe 5 characters missing including high king himself and his heir . as far as i can understand it happens when you marry a other noble to you kings daughter and when the king dies other noble becomes king. no problem thus far . problem begins when the daughter dies and king returns to other nobles part. after this my characters started to disappear both from family and from other nobles . this is very frustrating since any governor that goes missing is impossible to reassign since its done from family screen. only workaround is replacing appearing generals with the missing governor then reassign the old general to anywhere you want. i hope ca fixes this soon. i also discovered that when you hide dead characters sometimes alive wifes of the dead generals gets hidden too. you can simply unhide them but still took me a while to see them
