Road Development
Does anyone know what exactly road development does? I have some ideas but theres not information in the game or online that clearly defines what it does.

In the past it enhanced trade income and troop movement. Since Rome II I think the roads are upgraded by building the cities/villages up and it does the same thing. I guess that´s about it.

Well it's the same as the older games. Only difference is it upgrades with the town rather than as a seperate option. Which they told us about.

then how come ports improve road development? lol

Road quality is determined by region wealth. That is all.

Roads have no impact on trade revenues, are not soley linked to any building, ect.

They upgrade by region wealth, and allow all armies to move further. End of story.

Streamlined to the max since r2.

I miss being able to upgrade my roads, I have no idea why CA took that option out. It was sort of a way of defining an Empires greatness.

I miss upgradeable roads too, though with the towns the way they are now it would be a nightmare to juggle that too.
