SOLVED: Total war launcher not working

It seems is the particle effects mod what is causing the crash. You have to unsuscribe the mod and delete if from your data folder. The file is called "attila_the_efect.pack". Remember to unsuscribe, or it will be downloaded again.

It runs as a 'movie pack' which basically means it will always load (and first) so when I thought I was turning off all mods I wasn't really. The author/sharer blames the launcher saying it needs an update so IDK

I've never had this issue until this afternoon. When I hit the play button in Attila Total War and the launcher starts, it crashes. I can't launch the game neither through steam nor the .exe file. I have been playing Attila this very morning and I have change nothing in my pc during the day.

* Not using any mod
* I've tried to check integrity and it said everything is right
* I've reinstalled the game
* Nvidia gtx860M with driver version 352.86 (it said it's updated but I've also tried to reinstall the driver)
* I've also restored Windows to a few days old point (I have been playing this morning, so it was working at that restoration point)

I can play Napoleon TW as usual, as it has no launcher. The crash happens in the launcher, not inside the game.

Any idea?

As Tezzeen has pointed out in TW Forums http://forums.totalwar.com/showthread.php/156618-Total-War-Launcher-stopped-working the game works fine when launching from mod manager. At least is a solution until some real fix happens.

And Gollum said that with other TW launcher is possible to play also.

Anyway, those are only ways to been able to play. We are still waiting for a real solution.

If anyone is still having this issue I found something that fixed mine that isn't listed here as a fix. I copied attila.exe and pasted it in the launcher folder. I then deleted the launcher.exe and renamed the copied attila file as launcher.exe and now my game runs but I don't get the first pop-up box.
