Considering Genghis had the largest contiguous empire in history, it would be likely Attila wouldn't survive long if he went against Genghis Khan in some time warp. Although Attila is made out to be the devil or some hellish person with his horde, this is due to the christans over hyping everything they came into contact with at the time.

TL;DR- Attila will lose.

Genghis' "empire" was techically split up among multiple khanates who were more or less independent of each other with Kublai being the Khan of Khans even though he only had control over China while opposing Khans declared independence from him far away from his sphere of control. Given that the Mongol "empire" was beaten back into Mongolia within 150 years of its existence (much of it being sparsely inhabited steppes) the whole "largest empire" claim is not as impressive when you think about it

Attila was an incompetent ruler, and killed everything he touched for no reason. Khan killed everything he touched for a reason, and that reason was to force everyone to adhere to his meritocracy style society.

Attila was just a prick with an army. Khan was a leader with a system. Yes, that system really only worked with him in charge, but the fact that he made it work so well is what mattered.

It's like comparing a pitbull to a dictator. One is pretty much just a vile animal that's only famous for being hated; the other formed a functional empire with effects still felt to this day.
