Archers with Flaming shot will deal with Horse archers very well, also Onagers.
I play the Geats and when they attempted to raid my lands i defended my lands with nothing more than Viking Raiders,Viking horse raiders and Nordic Archers and 1 Onager, think i used dogs to chase down their foot archers also.
But my armies are 80% melee.

dogs also good against horses I thought, but yeah archer/ skirmishers will make short work of the horse archers not to mention other cavs that are just as fast as them... annoying bunch if your army is full of melee tho, I remember in medival 2 you could actually loose an attack battle due to timer cause just didn't have a unit fast enough to catch up to a defending horse archer :P

Not fun...

I hate Horse Archers since TW game exists now they also get spammed by AI^^

Attilas armies were known to mainly consist of extremely mobile units (archers or cavalry) just learn how to defend or attack better and as aly says use dogs they are good and dropping cav off the map if used right

wtf horse archers are the worse unit in the game

Flaming arrows and crossbows seem to make short work of them...

Here is q cheap tactic that you can use against hte huns. Run to the edge of the map and form a defensive line, this way they cant flank you since you are at the edge. Put all your units in defensive formation to minimize casualties from missiles. Once they ran out they have no other choice but to charge you. Make sure you put spear units in the front.

There are ways to deal with horse archers, as annoying as they are. One way is to send light cavalry, the other is the bombard them with catapaults and archers, and lastly to send weaker units to absorb all of their arrows (though im not sure... maybe the AI has infinite arrows again).
wooded and rugged terrain will help you kill them in abundance. If not, recruit a mixture of light cavalry, heavy cavalry, archers and spearmen. Let your light cav go in full trod on both flanks of the horse archers just keep riding, they will retreat and not fire. Then once they're boxed in at the edge of the map strike with the rest of your cav and infantry! Beware, keep your formations as loose as possible with considerable gaps between the different units.
