is it impossible to kill the huns?
hi all, been playing as the franks and ive been "rank" 2 or 3 for awhile and ive killed 37 hun armies, ive also fought attila himself and when i killed off his entire unit there was a message something along the lines of "he was injured but has escaped and will live to fight another day"

every 8ish turns they send another 5-10 armies at me and it takes everything i have to kill them but then the cycle repeats again .-.

did ca actually make infinite respawning huns? o.o

thx for the tip, but im waay ahead of you :P ive taken over britain, the nordic factions and the germanic factions and went south enough that i can almost see italy :P
however at the moment i seem to have all the attention of the huns and spain is looking at me oddly x.x

I think the huns have significant bonuses for as long as Attila is leading them, but they do have the capability to have a ton of stacks from the start just by virtue of being a horde.

from the sounds of it ill have to hold them off until attila's life naturally ends or i get a mission to kill him....really hope spain doesnt attack x.x

Well, I mean, you could try assassinating him.

Also, killing him in battle can work, apparently -- he does have a chance to escape, but he CAN die, unlike Napoleon.

hmm, ok ty, maybe i was just unlucky, attila was only stuck in the middle of 2000 soldiers :P

I managed to kill Atilla;

- First time he gets injured, then you need to fight him and kill him. (this only gets him injured, and he respwans in a new full stack)

-Next time you fight him same things happens, he survives with few units and retreats, but this time if you catch him (once he has reatreted again) he dies for good.

So 4 times you encounter him. Regarding rest of the Huns, a pop up came once i killed him which said that their power will detiriate, or something like that.

They seem to be a bit weaker now but not 100% sure. They still spawn their doom stacks and still attack me. I dont mind having this script working against the player. It gives a challange, but it would make more sense that they sue for peace, since they lost so many men and leaders.

Breaking News :P !: Few turns after the death of Atilla. I kept on fighting the stacks and managed to corner 1 Hun army near the black sea.

Sent a spy to slow them down. Was one turn behind with 2 stacks of my own. But before I got to the huns, some random ai went in for the kill and snached my victory.

The Huns function in the way that they will have unlimited army spawning in and they will attack you (if you kill 4 armies then 4 armies will spawn the next turn). i was defending my lands for years untill i got angry - gathered 2 Elite armies and hunted Atilla down (you can se where he is on the overview map). He escaped a few times but eventually he died and the message "the power of the Huns are scattered" (or something along those lines).

They stopped respawning after that.

how do i know they respawn ? check strenght rank - they were always ranked number 3. if i killed their armies and bumped them down to 10-15 it would take 1 turn to get back to number 3.

After Atilla died they stopped respawning and i could kill the last ones untill the faction message "Huns destroyed" made me a happy panda :ss13ok:

Confirmed. I was killing endless stacks of Huns until I finally managed to assassinate Attila. After that, no new Hun amies have spawned and they have only 1-2 small armies left.

The Huns keep respawning inside of my borders at semirandom locations (restricted to provinces northeast of Italy) And since Atilla hasn't spawned yet I'm at a loss for what to do since I'm basically getting shelled by unpredictably spawning doomstacks

Until you can kill Atilla the multiple times, just try buy or keep thepeace. They are surprising will to make peace.

Yeah attila is cheese its not really a tw game as it totally cheats for attila.... rome can be destroyed in rome 2 and dont even get any bonuses tbh the ai kills them off all the time!

attila the huns are total cheese with cheated stacks popping out of thin air.

2nd worst totalwar made imo....

i love the combat and sieges as the towns are much better but the map and map ai are awful!!!!
