Extreme lag / freeze on the intro video / main menu ?

Hi, first of all sorry for my english (not my native language)

Like you, I have this problem (which made me angry knowing that I am one of the players loving Total War since Shogun 1, but after Empire and Rome 2... I hesitate to buy Attila, but the first reviews BY PLAYERS were reassuring)

First, the game was installed on a fresh system with up to date drivers (nvidia, realtek, chipset etc) so the problem don't seem to come from drivers (in my case)

3 things I did to resolve the problem

1) desactivate the windows firewall (normally I use Bitdefender Internet Security but I didnt have install it yet)

2) delete the "creative assembly" folder in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\
If you have a savegame (dont think so if youre on this thread)

3) update directx with this link (only change language)

4) reboot and try to launch the game

I swear the problem was solved for me (the game feels unoptimized however, Rome 2 is running extremly well)

I think the problem may came from the directx version of the game itself (or firewall... or both)

I have the same problem. I have tried turning off my firewall and my antivirus software, incidentally it worked after I did the later. But it just started ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up again yesterday. My head hurts.

I just tried deleting the "Creative Assembly" Folder in the hidden AppData file. It works now! Whatever is going wrong has something to do with that folder.
