For some reasons Attila and Rome II weren't ported by Feral Interactive - sadly because the OSX ports are awful.
They removed the OS instead of updating it, meaning no money to spend on OSX.

Real shame because despite people not liking the game, It was actually enjoyable

The port was done internally by CA, I'm puzzled why SEGA hasn't done something about it especial when Rome II still selling well.

soon as they stopped supporting mac and no longer supporting 64 (I think) it ruined my gaming for me ... felt like I was forced to move onto to warhammer 2 & 3

You can always try portingkit.com and is free.

Download the Rome 2 portingkit, this will give you access to the Windows version of Steam. After this, download Attila via the windows steam version and you should be able to play the game.
Because Attila isn't listed in the "sources" portingkit, the above is a workaround.

So I managed to get it working last night. Constantly opening and closing the game I could see the opening credits :) it worked fine and even better on a stronger engine
