No, the AI is butthurt as always. What will happen is that they declare war on you, nothing else happends, you can still continue, I dont belive you can peace them out. I was thinking it was a bug, but probably due to AI logic, I only had 50+ relations anyways.
Just to be sure, you did not settle? You were still loyal, right?

I had not settled, I were not that loyal, I had taken some 3-4 events that are counted as disloyal but good to the cause of Justinian in the long term, It might have triggered it, but I am not sure. I had 50+ relation and I were still a horde/expeditionary force, I sat in Africa and boom he decided to boot me out of the ''League'', such a waste of Roman forces in my mind.
But considering AI, this could be due to mods, the state of the Roman Faction, they had their newly received settlements really upgraded and shiny, I doubt it was my mods anyways, since the AI is still as dumb as in Grand Campain.
