Moors invasion
Is it a one-time thing? I was quite unpleasantly surprised with their spawn in the butt of my empire. I managed to destroy all of their armies, but what if they return?

I had an event message which said something like the Moors will rage like a sandstorm over Africa and bump everyone out of their land. They are a horde right? If you destroyed their camps a message should pop up with faction destroyed. I'm playing Ostrogoths and didn't see the Langobards...they should appear at some time as horde and oh well, this won't be funny for me
They weren't a horde, just 5-6 regular armies. I destroyed them and they are no longer in diplomacy menu, neither taking turns. And btw i see Langobards taking turns, im on turn 35 or so.

This made me rage quit my campaign. I had just taken over the Vandals and the Vandal Seperatists in Africa and moved all but 1 army into Italy.. just for the Moors to randomly spawn 4-5 full stacks right in the butt crack of the Roman lands I just spent all my time reclaiming.
I had to load 7 turns back save too. Would be much better if they added a warning message at least 2 turns before invasion...

Why should there be a warning message? "Hello we are going to invade you. Prepare and meet us!"
Invasion is supposed to be unexpected and deadly.
BTW Their troops are no match for Romans.

If you are playing the campaign correctly the emperor goves you 2 armies to deal with them.

Ah I see...in 540 AD the Langobards invaded my northern territories of Italy. Message popped up like yours in Africa and hey presto! They are visible in the Alpes and are no horde. Only noticed a few turn before, that their symbol appeared in the turn faction logos.

Now I have to deal with them.

Well, Romans tried to negotiate with them before they invaded, it's written in the message box, it's a good reason to give a warning message. And i had only starting troops, they are not that good.

I founded my own empire from turn one, had to struggle with bancrupcy, hunger, deseases etc.

I am doing the last roman as kingdom of rome on legendary.I will say after doing a restart 20 times I think I got it got two armies engaged at thapsus near circa.I got through all the rough times and now plan to crush the and move to sardinia and sicily.if berbers dont declare war.

This campaign is hard going independent.I downgrade my horde buildings before I attack.

This campaign might pan out at year 536.

Yeah i also rage quit when the moors spawned, was going fine taking over all of africa, Then the moor's spawned and i got trapped between them and the berbers.

I hate that they have to add in these factions spawning out of thin air the most annoying addition to tw ever no strategy just bam instant armies at your doorstep out of thin air.

My reinforcements were being spawn camped by navel fleets, everytime they spawned they instantly died. Great idea ca spawn land units in the water gg.

do you all have any idea how hard it is to restart if the beginning doesnt go well?man I had to attack hadrumentuim second turn and take thysdrus next...or the two small ones then hadrumentium...

had to do it just right to where the enemy keeps their units in ships in order to win against the garrison.

the game doesnt go the way you want it too...but then war never does...

in this campaign being independent is harder then what we all expect....I think they should add more money into it and make the costs on everything lower..
