Advice on a tanukhid campaign?
The Tanukhids seem like an awesomely fun faction to play, but I heard it is extremely defficult to get started. Any advice for the first few turns?

It's too hard for me currently, keep getting chased off by the ERE and going deep into Sassanid lands only to find out they are still after me, and my food is not good and i keep losing men each turn, its pretty bad for me, unless there's a miracoulous event, the milita sucks aswell.

Would also like some tips. Seems all luck based over here. (Hard)

Well, if you do that you would have 1 troop per unit left due to the circumstances. ;)

doing a tanukhid campagin atm and all I've got is, buy an onger first turn, sack and lib amesa(palmya faction) then run and lib the judea faction then flee to africa lib, africa and egypt, build up some forces do the raze 5 settlments quest, then go do the lib 3 team quest and start your empire of the east.

Oh the reason foe the onger is the ai will come out of the town to attack you in the open, so you can rekt them with your shock cav

make non agressions pacts with everyone you can except ere. the only real difficulty I had was dealing with the 2-3 stacks of ere chasing me around aggressively. Those militia units are really really bad and I had too many of them in my army early on. (they remind me of peasants in mtw2, only slightly better.) I used one horde to be the bait with all three stacks chasing me into the desert and I moved my other horde far north and started sacking/liberating/razing the levant and syria. Once your horde is strong enough to defeat a stack of ere you can usually isolate a stack using spies to misdirect and destroy them piecemeal. I eventually quit the campaign when the sannsaids went to war with me since i somehow ended up at war with one of their satrapies. I couldnt deal with the 30 stacks coming out of the sannsanid empire. I mean I could have eventually but not worth the effort.

This seems to be the biggest thing with the new factions. Getting into a war with the Sassanid Empire (Early to mid game) always screws the EoS campaigns pretty quick.

I played as the tanukhids, I moved south during the first turn, and put myself in raid stance, attacked palestina and freed judea
then i went on a rampage in north africa till i reach Malaca where i settled
then I took over all of iberia and then took aquitainia and narbonesis, burned down genoa and the other one next to it, then proceeded back to north africa

I made the mistake of razing my way through north africa and trying to settle in Carthage. Apparetnly the WRE wasn't as weak as I thougt. Went back and liberated buffer states and settled in Egypt

On my playthrought (VH) with them i was lucky because my wife gave me +2 cunning allowing me to engage in night battles and that way avoiding multistack battles. I also found the desert tribesmen really useful against ERE. THey are really light, but also cheap to maintain and recruit, and, what is better, they are a sword unit, making them really useful against limitanei and spear comitatenses, which is the main unit of the ERE. The legio where easy to counter, even with the tribesmen, using superior numbers or the shock cavalry in the back.

Remember to sack cities with each army, to replenish the food.

Also a first turn onager is a must, either mercenary (my recomendation to attack the capital of Palestina) or by recruiting them. Other option is engagins the ghassanids.

Always sack first, and then raze, liberate, or leave them to sack them again later.
If you want to destroy a city without razing it, and without spending a lot of time in the battle map burning it, sack it multiples time in the same turn, it will yield money only the first time, however, each sucesive time you willl degrade one level the exisiting buildings, until leave them with just the main building ruined (in which state cannot replenish garrison).

For example, a level 2 city with level 2 farms and level 1 forum. If you sack it, you will leave the building damaged, if you sack it a second time, you will leave a level 1 city damaged, a level 1 farm damaged and no forum (empty slot), and if you sack it a third time, you will leave a level 1 city ruined (cannot autorepair o replenish) and two free slot. Basically is razing without razing.
