Unit Replenishment: How does it work exactly?
Hello folks!

I have played some Rome 2 (but mostly DEI) and I just got attlia and I am trying to wrap my head around the replenishment system.

Basically how does it work? I know I can replenish in my own territories, and hordes can replenish everywhere, right? Also if there is an enemy in the provience, can the home team also replenish?

I felt that big fights where I barely lose didnt matter if they can just replenish in 3 turns, but this will not happen on the attack or if I have an army in the same region I am attacking?

I am currently fighting the huns and I would really like to figure this out, thanks!

Not sure about DEI, but I'll speak from experience from Vanilla. Yes, you obviously can replenish your troops in friendliy territory, but some factions, like the Huns, can stop replenishment if they're in a region of yours due to a faction trait they have. Hordes cannot replenish everywhere, only when they are encamped and/or in friendly territory

About the big fights, you need to make sure you're able to run the AI's troops down after a big fight like that, or get rid of their weakened army after that fight by fighting them again, use agents, etc.

Thanks for the help. The most effective tactic I have found is to have two sets of armies, one is the battle I fight to kill as many of them as possible, then a follow up stack of cheaper units that the AI can autocalc the routed stack to death with.

Yes but with exception.
The huns have the faction ablilty that stops replenishments of foreign troops in the invaded region.
