1212 AD starter nations and tips?

I'm new to 1212 but have played an awful lot of total war. Looking for someone good for beginners, preferably Christians to learn with. Any general tips would be nice

how u deal with the 2turn recruitment?
it takes2 turns, and i get capped at 9stacks. not sure wat im doing wrong xd

That's pretty much every country for non trash units. If you get declared on super early then it's better to just re roll.
