Pros and Cons of Atilla: Total War
I'm considering buying this game, so I'd like to hear everybody's opinions on the pros and cons of this game, and if this game is worth the 44 dollars.

IMO add it to your wish list and wait for a special so you can pick up some of the DLC with it and still come out at <$20.
It was $11.24 the other day ans $2 DLC's. Certainly worth that price. But not $44.
There many pros and many cons, to this game just read the many reviews.
The performance is atrocious.

It's a BUY. Much more to the game than meets the eye!
I am having a blast so far. The game is well worth the money for me.

there is a the problem with to few race you know without dlc's
You can play literally hours with one group in a campaign. There are enough starting teams.
It is worth it, however you should consider beeing patient and wait for discount (you just missed one) - for the same price then you can buy Attila with all DLCs...
I've played all the Total war titles since the original shogun (barring the fall of the samurai expansion). Up until this title I'd consider myself to be pretty good. Not great, but certainly good enough to give the AI a run for its money on at least hard. That being said, this title changed that a lot, for the better I might add.

Pro's:
- This is a total war title that is actually hard and will not have you stomping around the map after a couple of turns.
- different focus if you play as romans: not building an empire, but keeping it which is quite difficult.
- looks good, personally I have no performance issues.
- Barbarians are actually pretty cool to play as.

Con's:
- Learning curve is a bit steep, the game doesnt play intuitively. You need ot read up on some order/economy/religion management or you will likely fail (at leas I did)
- I don't like the new UI at all. Nor do I like the overly realistic unit cards. I found the Rome II style much nicer, and also more intuitive. But... from what I've been reading, a lot of players think its the either way around so.
- Zoom level is not too my liking either. It seemseverything is a bit farther away than in Rome II, which makes the campaign map not very clear. But this is also very personal.
- I also found the starting set up to be really meager actually.

On the whole, I think the base game could be worth 40 bucks, but its a bit of a gamble. I'd say, be save and buy it on sale and get all the DLC's as well, you'll end up with 40 bucks for a much more complete game.
What I like so much about it is the feeling of danger and chaos. As small tribe, you sneak in and take Roman land, always on the lookout for their superior armies. While you do this, you battle with the other tribes in your area. To add to this, The Huns and migrators lurk out there as well and you must always be ready. So much is happening you always need to be ready. This is what I really enjoy about the game.
game is good, far better than rome 2 in my opinion and even one of the best TW ever made, I gave it a bad review because of their dlc politics, when the game came out they released 3 dlc in one month... but the game is great, I love the time period it takes place in, I love playing as the romans and in this game you actually get a challenge, keeping your empire is very hard and AI seems a lot better than in Rome 2.
For the performance I find it very good, never had any problemes and I play on ultra with a gtx 760 and a I7 4970K and getting 30-35+ fps, my Fps just drops when they are 4 armies on the battlefield but even then it is not unplayable.

a lot of negatives of the game could compensate by modes in workshop.
But there is one big con - the price of the game.
I'm living in russia (sanctions rise dollars price to rouble) so even 5$ is really big money for me
