Regarding Attila the best improvements I've found via trial and error are:
- "number_of_threads 0" change 0 to number that your CPU has (but max 8) in preferences script in %appdata%
- „gfx_video_memory 0“ change 0 to -1 in same file as above
- downloading blood+data packs from other games (I think ToB)
- performance battle maker mod (or blood and gore performance if you use the blood dlc), or revan's Venus+Mars+Apollo mods
- shadows, water and particles on performance setting
- disable DoF, Screen space reflection, and SSAO
- honestly, would recommend large unit size vs ultra. less work for the game in chokepoints, and this is the main situation that will drop fps
This gets me a stable 60 fps on a 1660 ti with the occasional drop in chokepoints or unit models/corpse/blood overload.
EDIT: Regarding the 32 bit version of dxvk, tried it but couldn't get it to work. Game launches, got to the menus, but can't enter campaign map or battle map.
EDIT 2: Absolutely false info, campaign map is 40-45 fps, battles are 60 from afar (zoomed out) and dipping down to 10 in extremely bloody chokepoints full of corpses.
Why hello, thanks for the advice!
I have tried the preference script edit. Didn't work for me.
I do not feel inclined to have to reduce quality. Feel kinda sad on such a powerful rig. One would assume it could handle it.
I di not have ToB, since to me it looks inferior to Attila. Any way to get the data packs that helps with fixing the bonked optimization?

The link above contains the data+blood pack that a modder has recently updated, they are to be used in conjunction with his mods (raven's mods I mentioned previously). I have used them without his mods and the packs work while making a difference in fps on my rig.
The original ToB data+blood packs are buried somewhere in a comment section of a steam community post regarding bringing ToB optimization to Attila as far as I remember. Haven't used them in a while.
EDIT: ToB files link on page 6

This has eliminated 99% of my stuttering thank you kindly
I downloaded the data+blood and replaced the ones in my datapack. Still get like 30-20 fps in battle. It's still horrible.
I did the gfx and thread edits too. No dice.
using the performance enhancer mods too. No luck there either.
In campaign i have literally like 45 frames.
Glad to hear it.
Really? That's honestly surprising and depressing at the same time considering the rig you have.
As a last resort try starting the .exe in compatibility for windows 8.
If that doesn't make it better, lowering some graphic option are the best bet unfortunately. It still looks pretty good. I do not play on potato graphics, give it a go. Some tips are below:

I also use reshade mainly for AA.
Look at all of the hoops necessary to enjoy the game. Good job, CA.
I remember reading somewhere that these options are the same thing (gfx video memory and unlimited video memory) but am not sure. Won't hurt to have them both enabled.
I can't get Attila to show more than 4gb VRAM either, even though my GPU is supposed to have 6gb. I have no idea if it utilizes it without showing it in the graphics menu, or not at all.
