How have you been playing?
Take the islands as Ireland and Scots generally go to war.
Then..French go to war with me 100% of the time so far...along with the Spanish factions. Usually I am then stuck with fighting 4-5 full attacks per turn.
Meanwhile they attack me, I try and get as much trades going as possible as the constant attacks are very costly.
They chased me back to UK where I tried to get some high tier stacks to counter, and then denmark lands with 5 stacks on my coast and im done....
Waiting for 1212 for another medi campaign....maybe better script....
I did do one run with the 1220 mod about a half a year ago or so as the Teutonic Order and played till like turn 200. I remember securing some nearby provinces first at which point I already realized that for some odd reason my neighbours have twice as many units as me despite only having half the amount of cities. I then decided to make a bold move and sent all my armies to Italy in order to capture the rich cities there, including Rome. After I secured Italy and Rome I abandoned all my former cities in Eastern Europe and Northern Europe and fully focused on the Mediterranean. I captured Carthage and made it to about Egypt at which point I basically stopped having fun because no matter how often I beat their armies, they always immediately recruited another full army stack out of thin air. The relocation was also good in hindsight because the Huns? Was it the Huns? Or whatever but some nomadic faction keeps spawning in the East and no matter how many times you destroy them, they always immediately spawn back with full army stacks. I found that the artillery in the game is really powerful so if you recruit strong units along with several artillery and kind of just wait out the fight and let your artillery hammer away at the enemy then you can beat armies twice or thrice your own size.
I play with -50% upkeep mod but I play Kingdom of Georgia, and I still start out with negative income :T. Mod author is kind of toxic too
