encyclopedia not starting?

I always struggle with Atilla because I want to like it, but can't figure out a lot of things about how to play. Every now and then I try to start the game, but I get fed up with it pretty quickly. The most recent time I've tried to play I've tried to start up the encyclopedia and the hourglass keeps spinning but the encyclopedia never comes up. I have no mods.

Does anyone else experience this, and if so, what is the problem?

A few times I've experienced the Encyclopedia not coming up in Rome 2. I think it was only when my internet was running slowly....

The same problem!! What i do wrong? internet connection is good

Never been happy with CA about moving this online, every time I play Shogun 2 and it immediately pops up in that game as compared to the wait I have to endure in subsequent TW titles I'm reminded of how devs make changes that make their lives easier rather than their users.
