Franks tips?

So I am having some trouble figuring out what to do as Franks bc the settlements all require a garrison. Plus taking the province I start out with seems to be pretty difficult.

Wait aren't the Romans too tough? What kind of army composition works for them? If I go for Brittania then the Saxons in Germany will attack me?

No, I went to Britannia and founded a small realm, the celts loved me for fighting the Romans (at the beginning, later on the relation went down). I could marry a Caledonian girl. If the Saxons attack or not is random. It depends on the rulers attributes. If you loose your city it does not matter. Your capital is dificult to defend. Britannia is the best way to expand fast. And if you expand fast, the Celts do not come into the game. If you ignore Britannia, the Celts take it and they don´t like you.
I fought also the Saxons, in my first frankish campaign and it was on the edge and much harder.

for the franks abandon ur starting province for either brittania or hispania, both lead to vastly different campaigns. your starting capital is terrible so just abandon it.

So when should I abandon the province and start the migration?

Only if you have no chance or it is to expensive to hold it. Do not start migration. But be careful a rebellion in capital region creates a civil war.

Oh i thought you wanted me to migrate! I am currently a few turns in and took tulifurdum (idk how to spell it, the city that looks to be ancient Hanover) and am building up to go attack Britain.

I told you that you should go to britain. If you do not go fast the celts will take it. Britannia has 3 provinces, has short ways and is good to defend. If you took the Saxon capital you have to deal with the situation.

So when I take these settlements in Brittania my army begins starving! What do I do?

You need more food, I think so
