so you want a fantasy series with some historical names in it.
Rome well apart from almost everything being wrong historicaly it was fun to watch!.
Game of Thrones well fantasy series from Fantasy books, and the author admitted he wrote the first few books to be as gritty and full of things that wouldnt go on TV at the time, because half his career had turned into making TV friendly material and he was sick of it.
Kingdom of Heaven you really like twisted movies that fail to be true to history.
Braveheart a great joke, the missing river at the biggest battle scene Sir William Wallace was a trained Knight and spoke 5 or 6 languages and Highlanders didnt paint themselves with woad!.Just go and read about him!.
And Alexander yet again nice fantasy shame about the truth.
and why would a 6'4" tall man from Hawaii make a good Attila ?.
here is a description of Attila
Attila was described in Priscus account of a meeting with him, which was passed on to us by Jordanes. Attila was described as being squat, barrel chested, having tanned skin, a flat nose and small eyes. He also had a thin, greying beard similar to that of many Asiatic peoples.
Often times the actual historically accurate accounts are relatively boring.
But when I listed those movies and TV shows I meant in terms of tone and presentation.
I don't want an Attila movie to look like this:

Again, its not the accuracy I am talking about, its the tone and presentation.
the point I am making is either make historical films or make fantasy films but cut the rubbish about adding fantasy to every piece of real history.
oh and because the demogeaphic seems to like tall blond blue eyed people they would use all scandanavian actors.
I can care less about the history of my island because its mostly a depressing one to me.
But in the case of Attila they can make it historically ficitonal or historically accurate for all I care.
I just want a more gritty and realistic tone and presenation of the Dark Ages of Europe and the Hunnic invasion that is similar to things like HBO Rome.
I would love more fantasy series or series that dont try and tell history, Game of thrones is great fun as would a series made with the more gritty style About Conan The Barbarian, unlike the films that were shaped to do well at a cinema a series by HBO could be a lot closer to the books.
