How to change language

So I've wanted to play the 1212 and Ancient empires mods, however the game isn't installed in english so I'm left with every text as blank space.
Using the steam's option of changing language by opening the game's parametres and changing it only changes the announcer voice to english, while leaving the rest as it was.

Is there any other way to change language without reinstalling?

Normally it is te right way to change it in the game setings for attila. Did you ever installed UPC Files? And look in your data. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Total War Attila\data . There have to be a local_en file. If there is another local_de or local_es etc. you have a collision. Normaly steams deletes this when you change language.

Not able to find any _en file, neither a _de or _es in the data folder. Changing a local language text document doesn't do anything either.

With out the local_en you cannot have english displays. In the folder direction I gave you is the basic stuff for the game. But I have no idea why Steam does not install the local_en when you change the language to english in the game settings.

library, right click the game, choose properties, change the language there, languages are in the the 4th option there.

yes, ok, but i don´t understand the problem. isn´t there described a sloution for this problem in the mod itselve? The mods author should know an answer. Every modder knows that English is the most common language here for the mods , so there should be a version for u already working fine. 1212 isn´t for the english Atila version ??

@David, the problem is, that Steam does not install the english data files. @PaulieAndCo_ - if you read the 1212 chat you need absolutely clean data. I think, that you have to reinstall the game, and delete all of 1212 data if you played before.

@PaulieAndCo_ i have the exact same problem. My game is also installed in german and even if i try to change the language to english, my game simply does not react to it. tried redownloading and opening the game in different languages, but still no change. So i am looking foreward to maybe find a answer in this chat...

Nevermind I found how. Deleting the local language file in the data folder and then selecting english in Steam's parametres.

Da darf kein local_de drin sein. Bei mir hat Steam es gelöscht und durch die local_en ersetzt. Warum es bei Euch nicht funktioniert hat, kann niemand sagen.

I`ll install the whole game today once more and see if it`ll work out. If not i am really gonna be mad, because this is one of my favorite games (616 h into it).
