How to achieve heroic victories?

playing as the celtic factions there is a building which requires to achieve 3 heroic victories to be unlocked, the problem is this game doesn't like to give the player a heroic victory, if you're outnumbered by 1 to 3 with the odds heavily against you and still win the battle, the result will likely be close or pyrrhic victory

You need to have a few losses to have a heroic victory.
That's why siege defense are the easiest way to have a heroic victory.

It's the most difficult victory. As Aldo said, the best way are siege defences where you can destroy the enemy armies with good range units.

They can be stingy with heroic victories, it's not enough to just win against an overwhelming force, you have to do it without too many of your own dying. It's easiest to do it in siege battles as said above, or using Cav spam to blitz one unit down at a time with no losses in a field battle.

War dogs + Infantry. Release the dogs into the opposing army then send the infantry in straight after. The A.I underrates War dogs, they disrupt enemy formations whilst your infantry moves in.
