Raise max VRAM, here it is how.
The game will only detect a maximum of 3072MB VRAM by default. This edit will have you raise that limit to 4095MB which is the absolute maximum due to bad engine design but should be enough for gaming in 4K.

1- Open %APPDATA%\The Creative Assembly\Attila\scripts\preferences.script.txt

2- Find the first instance of gfx_video_memory 0 and change 0 to -1. The game will now recognize the maximum supported VRAM which is 4095MB

3- Save the changes.

it should. But try it with and without. And lower shadows. it has huge impact on performance

do you know anything about 32bit limits? its not bad programming its the maximum address space available to a 32bit memory register 4GB is it thats all of the addresses it can deal with. and your fix may create stability problems.

No matter what it says, it won’t use more than 4GB due to being 32bit

I was under the impression that Attila had finally moved to 64 bit.

I don’t even think Thrones of Britannia (same engine) is 64bit

Well, Thrones requires at a minimum 64 bit Windows 7.
And Attila requires 64 bit OS if you are running the game off integrated graphics.
So I think these games "technically" support 64 bit OS
But they are definately not built from the ground up for 64 bit OS. Much like most games are built for DirectX11 and have DirectX12 "tacked on"

When I did this my game just got super laggy, and I have 4GB VRAM with 20GB RAM. Am I the only one?
