Total War: ATTILA

I'm still in shock the Mongolians actually reached Europe and screwed up to Poland to Bulgaria...
Attila was almost an omen that these men of the steppe from distant as China would come as a marauding, relentless tide...

The Huns were proto-mongols of sorts. They were defeated by the Chinese and fled west.

You could also say the Turks were an omen. The Gokkturks and Seljuks were terrifying.
Huns are Turkic people. (European Huns, Attila and Xiongnu (east asia empire)
Potato potato
Looks like it took at least two times for Europeans to get their ♥♥♥♥ together earlier this time around

Turkic and Mongolian people are related. Don't confuse Turks from the state of Turkey in Anatolia with Turkic people, the only thing they have in common are similar language and some aspects of culture.

Well that has more to do with how powerful Cavalry mobility was until guns and proper artillery came around and refined to a point a horse was more a large target. Even then it pretty much took until the machine gun to obsolete them in battle.

Honestly the very fact that civilized Europe even survived the Huns and Mongols was an improvement over how well settled people usually did against nomadic horse people.

What are you, a Social Justice Warrior?
The point is, the Turks are only a sub-type of the Turkic peoples and not all Turks are Turkic. It’s also not clear if the Huns were literally Turks as we know them, a proto-Turkic tribe, or a related but distinct branch such as the Mongols.

Turks of Turkey carry from 25 upto 45% central asian genes. Basic anthropology. Move on.

Genetics show a closer similarity to Proto-Turks (Ulaanzkukh and Slab Grave) than to Proto and Para-Mongols. Again, basic anthropology. As an anthropologist, this debate is done here. This is the most basic knowledge, no need for further pseudo breakdowns. Same for you @Not the Bees!
Based on what? The burials we know contain haplogroups shared by dozens of barely related ethnic groups. Also I hope you remember that ‘Turkic’ refers chiefly to language.

No, quite the contrary actually. But what does it have to do with presenting a well known fact?

Most Turks are descendants of Greeks, Armenians, Anatolian and some Slavic people as well. Turks aren't a sub type of Turkic people, they are the result of a minority of Turkic conquerors taking to bed enslaved women from the people they conquered over many generations. Eventually their east Asian features faded completely. Only a tiny minority of Turks today have any notable genetic contribution from their namesake ancestors.
