This mod is the only reason I am interested in getting Atilla. But do I need the dlcs in order to have access to all 1212AD factions?

I found the main mod page but that didn't say anything about dlc's. 1220 is a different number than 1212 though?

1212 AD isn't well balanced how can a spearman lose to some crossbows in a melee fight?

I for sure would not buy the game solely for a mod that is still in development, maybe when it is at a later stage of development as I am looking forward to 1212, but as it is it is rather unbalanced and wonky.

I mean crossbows were the opposite of elite in most places during these times. The whole point of them was that any slackjawed pillock could use them without any training whatsoever.

That doesnt mean every person wielding a xbow is a backwater peasant. The Genoese and other Italian States liked the xbow more than the bow and to say anyone can pick one up without training is rubbish. The spear is and always has been the militia weapon, not the xbow.

Hence why I said in most places, with the Italian States and Genoa in particular being the exception. It absolutely is not rubbish because, again, in most places, that was literally the entire point of the thing as good archers needed years of training to be any sort of effective on the battlefield and bows were considered a specialized weapon. With the crossbow, even untrained urban dwellers could be given the weapon and be somewhat of an effective element. The crossbow outside of Italy was basically the ranged militia weapon of choice.

The point is that most crossbowmen are the complete opposite of an elite unit and they certainly were not trained in effective melee combat. They were themselves usually poorly trained peasants or lower class burghers and certainly were not meant to engage in hand to hand fighting and be effective in such a role.

guys tell me why the game crashes .vfs ERROR WRITES.I REINSTALLED THE GAME ALREADY.I JUST TRIED to RUN it FIRST with MODS ,BUT IMMEDIATELY THIS ERROR AND THEN the GAME did not START at ALL, even WITHOUT Mods
