Best Faction for a Noob?
I am a long time TW player, but new to Attila. Any recommendations for best faction to play for a first campaign?

This is a tough faction, but an entertaining faction.

It is probably best suited to a skilled Total War vet.

Depends on what extra DLCs that you have for the game? If I remember correctly the Saxons was a original Faction... I would pick the Huns or the Saxons they both were pretty easy. If you have the Viking Forefather DLC then I would say Geats, If you have the Last Roman Pack then I would say the Roman Expedition. I have 17 Completed Factions Achievements so I think I know what I am talking about...

Not really best for somebody that's new to this specific game like OP though, you have to kinda understand the different campaign mechanics so you can fix your empire up properly and not lose most of it to rebellions within a few turns

I'd say one of the migrating hordes, i.e. "Great Migrators" on the gc screen.

The horde/nomadic play is the new thing in Attila, so you should probably just jump right into trying it. If you're a series vet, then none of the horde factions should prove irritating or too confusing for a first play-through either.

Many people would say to do WRE if you're a vet, for ultimate challenge...I disagree.

The reason being, if you actually are a series vet, you'll realize very fast that WRE is op as ♥♥♥♥ lol...and is only challenging if you do everything the chapter objectives tell you to :P otherwise, it's steamroll mode after only about 20 turns.

Western Roman Empire is a good start.

You have the most land, professional armies and one the largest fleets in the world.

Indeed. Not even the ERE I would recommend to a first timer...

The sassanids are great for a first run. You have a challenging enemy to fight right at the start, and have some relatively easy poltical problems to deal with as well. Allows you to play 50ish turns and either fight to the bitter end or achieve glory and like you got a lot done when you start feeling ready for a new campaign.

The Geats are fairly easy with the cold weather advantage they can fight and travel all year round!.
