Which come to think of it feels entirely like an appropriate response.
Having been entertained by all the Total War titles since Rome 2, including the Warhammer series, I feel Attila is their most sophisticated strategy title in the series. The artwork is very well done. The interaction of villagers is very nice. There are several mechanics the player needs to work. And the AI is very agressive compared to many of the other titles.
Being a player who prefers to slowly build/tech up, it took me some time to like Attila's more "total war" playstyle. But there's a lot more here for the strategy gamer than other Total War titles.
