What is the best faction in attila?
For me it´s the alans because they have the best spearcarriers and and very good archers but the cavalery is a littel bit bad.

The Alans have the best cavalry in the game. Insane shock bonus for a microscopic cost.

I like the Alemans, or whatever they are called, just a bit south of the Alans, I like their ground troops and crossbowmen.
Alans have always had good cavalry in every Total War lol, the best faction for units would be the two Roman ones or Sassanids. The Huns missile cav can also pretty much destroy anything if you are good at micro managing.

Slavs with their poison arrows, celtic factions with their guerrilla deployment madness and decent mainline units and the germanic factions with overall a very varied roster with cost effective cav, varied infantry and powerfull pikes. I would say all of this and Eastern Roman empire ( access to pikes) are probably more or less even. it really comes down who pushes its strategy better. Full cav armies from alans or huns might give you a bit of a headache but they are manageable so long you dont offer a clear charge into your rear. I would say what matter most is really getting to know your own faction strenghts and pushing them into your enemy trying to avoid direct contact or massive actions from the enemy powerfull units.

Poison arrows are extremely overpowered but not that useful against an extremely aggressve player. Alan cavalry spam is still the best strategy in multplayer.

Eastern Roman Empire i think

For me, it's the Saxons. BEST swords in the game (chosen swords), good cav (heroic cav will beat Noble alani), access to cheap Lancers. Only downside is lack of good missiles. Best part is wrecking fools online playing as my ancestors.

slavs

slavik archers are cool BUT they basically have 0 armour. Slavs have weak cav so you rely mostly on heavy infantry and archers.

Alans are the best non dlc, Slavs are the best dlc.
Best Hun: White Huns
Best Rome: WRE
Best Eastern/ Desert: Lakhmids
Best Barbarians/ Migrators/ Longbeards: Alans
Best Celts: Picts
Best Slavs: Anteans
Best Vikings: I don´t really care, maybe Geats.

But these are emotional elections not statistical. ;)
