Attila's death bugged?

I now killed Attila in battle for the sixth time and I still get the "enemy general suffered terrible injury but will live" message.

I got this exact message for the fourth time, once Attila started to flee before being killed, I killed his unit to the last man but did not get that message. Other time I killed remains of his army but with him still in the lead but also did not get the mesage. I witnessed at least once my ally to wipe his army out, I guess that doesn't count too.

I already know autocombat and killing him at sea doesn't count.

It is year 444 and he is still just a prince, might be that he will respawn infinitely as a prince? Either that or just a bug, but it's very annoying. I wasted so much time trying to kill him enough times in battle for nothing. Probably my last campaign in Attila.

It took me several times as well. Thoough I did get him eventually.

i useually play with mods but i Killed him the 2nd time i engaged him.

I think normaly you have to kill him 3 times then the fourth is the final, but it is very buged.

He needs to be King. Or wait till 445AD.
