1. General - when your general levels up, he can unlock integrity traits. Such as "Legatus", the very first level Roman General's level up trait.
2. Army - when your army levels up, they can also unlock integrity traits. Such as "Limitanei", again very first unlock for Roman armies.
3. Politics - Your political party within your faction needs to be respected. Armies don't wish listening to weak politicians.
4. Technology - Some military technologies increase integrity, so research them.
How to increase integrity in short term:
5. Win a Battle - Army is willing to fight for you if you are bringing them victories.
6. Decimate - You can perform this action to execute troublesome soldiers within your army.
When you hover over the integrity bar you can see the current factors influencing the change of the integrity.
Sitting still for one turn also gives +1 the subsequent turn, so long as you don't move. So in the short term, you can get +5 just by fortifying and sitting still.
Different agents can give integrity boost to the army they are embedded into, depending on their skills and ancilliaries.
Also, since you say this is AoC, keep in mind War Fervor: if War Fervor reaches negative levels, armies will start to lose integrity. Having a civil war going on inside your faction will also lower integrity.
PS: As Keeper of the Groove says, if integrity reaches 0, the army will go into rebellion.
You will not necessarily see the entire army turn into brigands/rebels though: some units may simply disband altogether.
It is rare to have armies rebel, but it is easier to see on VH/Legendary, because the maluses are quite high.
