They are not OP, man.
Consider this: sassanids don't have any spear infantry at Tier Gold.
Their melee infantry is usually (sogdians and dalamites) weaker than Legio or heavy infantry in general.
The only strong point is their cavalry and numbers but if you costrain them to fight you in cities ( i remember that one of three cities in Osrene maybe Amida has a really interesting city map with tons of bottles necks and similar) you can easily destroy all their stacks without great effort.

The reconquest is quite difficult anywhay, their garrison are usually enormous.
But after that you had made a good empire and a good economy you can crash them in 10/20 turns.

Anywhay withe Huns in same cases, especially at the begginning, destroy always at least a puppet state (usually Pathia) and burn to the ground a couple of sassanids cities.

Cringe
Sassynigs, hard? What is this heresy? Their infantry is mediocre, lacks T3 spears, and not specialized enough to stand and deliver against specialist infantry (i.e. thracians or legio/herculiani, etc.). It may be true that they have decent archers and good cav, but a proper army comp with any other faction can easily come out on top against them, even when outnumbered.
Sassynigs only real claim to relavence is the strategic boni that they get. It is also easy to exploit. Use the huns/white huns to raze their satrapies or do it yourself. Without income from satrapies the only thing you must do is scream DEUS VULT over and over again as you make them disappear.
They are beatable I know. I used white huns today to take revenge on them and won. But they should not be spamming out so many stacks they were never that powerful.

Yeah and I've played 1000+hours of Rome 2 and still have not completed a campaign I have 600+ hours in attila and still have't completed a campaign. I actually can win a Sassinids minor campaign if I wait a couple more turns, but I just quit once I find campaigns boring, same deal with my egypt campaign. So you being so good at Attila based on hours is really not that noteworthy.

sassanids are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ easy the only good think they have are there cavalry if you wipe them out early you obliterate everything else
Im playing Tanuhkids. I have had a hard time against them as well, but thats mostly because i settled too soon. Anyway i still managed to withstand them and now im slowly winning. when it's getting hard just try to force them to fight in your cities. They dont have great infantry which almost guarantees a win on every defensive siege battle. Besides the AI can be stupid enough to just charge all their cav at once into a line of spears at a chokepoint.
But even without AI fails i dont think they are OP. They are just f*cking huge so it'll take a while to take them out.

However what nobody has mentioned is that they do seem to have very large garrisons as compared to all the other factions, i dont really undestand why that is.

Playing as Himyar, turn 60-70 something, Sassinids started fighting ERE, pushing with all their allies and client states. Later they declared war on me, the first war was pretty defensive they kept on pushing full doom stacks on me, but where easily defeated, the war caused me to make 2 additional armies to defend. Soon they asked for peace, http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1296293748

I took quite a bit of territory during the war. Later on they declared war on my client state Africa and a second war happened, used a newly raised army to destroy the Lakhamids capital and Sassinds capital. Pushing their other allies, Sassinids are easy to defeat if you know how to do it.
I guess they are not op I was just not prepared to deal with them. But still it makes no sense how they are the most powerful faction in the game.

I have found they are op in my campaign which I useods and unit packs I had to defeat them in numerous battles as Magyars half the armies were made up of infantry.

So I hadots of horse archers some infantry and melee cavalry and ambushed them alot my campaign ended on like 200 odd turns had long bloody war with them the key to beating them is ambush them alot and take out the puppet states sack cities and raze them don't conquer unless u have sufficient force to hold it and prepare to launch more attacks on them

So badly made game because the Sass-AI is using their only real strong troops, cavalry? Should they resort to use their crappy infantry instead?

If the sassanids were that powerful irl why didnt they take over the world? they should be a collapsing empire like the Eastern Roman Empire not a WW1 unstoppable army. I mean they have grenades and catapults that are more accurate than modern day artilary. Infact they dont even have to use their elite units since they just spam spears and archers. It makes no sense whatsoever they they are this powerful.
